Fern Callister completed her four years of Nutritional Therapy training at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition founded in 1984 by Patrick Holford.
She became interested in nutrition having witnessed its benefits on her father's Rheumatoid Arthritis. Having seen the increased sensitivity to food and environment triggered by this auto-immune condition she was amazed at the improvements which can be made by identifying and correcting nutritional imbalances and reducing inflammation in the body.
She has a keen interest in digestive disorders, female health, fertility, improving energy levels and enhancing general wellbeing. Having worked in the City, Fern has experienced the busy professional lifestyle where food and drink choices are often made through necessity rather than personal preference and where stress is an every day occurrance. She is keen to help make changes easier for busy people and offer solutions which are tailored to individual needs, limitations and time constraints.
Studying and living in Italy and other European countries, Fern developed a passion for good food and European culture and is a believer of the Mediterranean diet and way of life.
Fern regularly updates her knowledge through CPD certified seminars and is covered by the government body, BANT. She is currently training as a Zest4Life weight-management coach, a Foresight pre-conception therapist, and is also a fully insured, registered practitioner with the Nutritional Therapy Council and the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council.
Fern is happy to have been invited as a resident nutritional therapist on London Mums www.londonmums.org.uk, the only FREE and INDEPENDENT peer support group for mums based in London.
